    Fiber Supply Career

    The Fiber Supply Associate (FSA) Development Matrix helps you grow the skills you need to successfully take on a wide range of responsibilities in Fiber Supply. 

    • Build and maintain supplier relationships

    • Negotiate and procure fiber, including timber, chips, fiber fuel and recovered fiber for our mill partners

    • Learn inventory management

    • Develop professional skills, including negotiations, leadership fundamentals and lean manufacturing tools

    • Develop and support improvement projects for safety and corporate initiatives

    • Ensure environmental compliance through the use of ForSite and BMP Compliance Checks

    • Application Development roles are responsible for providing technical application solutions that enable IP to do business every day. Activities include consulting, technical design, development, unit testing, sustain and continuous improvement.

    Information Technology Career

    Our Collegiate Onboarding and Rotational Experience (CORE) Program is designed to provide college graduates with a series of experiences that will help prepare you to be a future leader in Information Technology. 

  • Manufacturing Data Analytics

    Our Manufacturing Analytics internships and careers will help you collaboratively drive best practices, innovations and processes and advance IP's operational excellence. 

     

    Areas of Focus

    Equipment Health; Process Health; Process Analytical Services; Equipment Reliability (Mechanical); Process Optimization in a Pulp/Paper mill, Machine Learning; Predictive Modeling

     

    Program Highlights

    • Work with other data scientists to create analytical tools to assist the mills with making quicker and better data-based decisions

    • Use Braincube, Power BI and other tools to develop models and insightful metrics and visuals

    • Utilize Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to assist with root cause and failure analysis (RCFA).

    • Visit mills and other IP facilities

  • Manufacturing Engineer

    Our Manufacturing internships and career path will help you collaborate, build technical and leadership competencies, and network with peers and subject matter experts, while adding value in a manufacturing engineering role.

    Manufacturing Excellence; Process, Reliability, Project Engineering; Process Control; Environment, Health & Safety, and Data Analytics Tools

     

    Program Highlights:

    • Earn Lean Six Sigma White Belt

    • On-the-job training and online learning courses

    • Precision maintenance

    Manufacturing Career: Our REACH Program is International Paper’s early career recruiting and development program for manufacturing engineers and safety professionals. Participants are typically degreed or experienced engineers or related STEM professionals who have started their career within the last five years.

  • Packaging Design

    Our Packaging Design internships and career path will help you build the experience necessary to implement the IP Think the Customer engagement strategy. 

     

    Career Paths

    Structural or Graphic Designer; Lead Designer (Local or National); Design Manager

     

    Program Highlights

    • Leveraging hands-on development at a manufacturing facility or design center 

    • Providing opportunities to contribute to innovative packaging solutions through optimization and design collaboration 

  • Sales

    Our Sales internships and career path will help you collaborate with customers to tailor and deliver the renewable solutions they need to make their business successful.

    Program Highlights

    • Use Gantt charts to keep track of meeting deadlines for customers

    • Recover chargebacks in Payee Central

    • Survey customers to compile data for process improvements

    • Use OBA Tracking to assist customers with tracking production and warehousing 

    • Research prospective customers

     

    Sales Career

    Our Associate Development Program is designed to help college recruits gain experience in sales through:

    • A structured approach through hands-on exposure to the manufacturing and commercial processes

    • Project work designed to develop professional, technical and leadership skills

    • Opportunities to network and engage with senior leaders

  • Supply Chain

    Our Supply Chain internships and career path will help you gain supply chain perspective by working in procurement, sourcing, distribution planning, transportation, logistics, customer service and more.

     

    Program Highlights

    • Earn Lean Six Sigma White Belt

    • Receive a peer mentor, on-the-job shadowing and classroom training

    • Visit our world headquarters and manufacturing locations

    Supply Chain Career

    For the first three years, individuals will be placed in our Supply Chain University (SCU) LAUNCH program, where you will:

    • Participate in face-to-face and virtual training events

    • Visit IP manufacturing facilities to see our supply chain in action 

    • Network with supply chain leaders from across the company

    • Build a community of colleagues who are also recent college graduates
