At International Paper, sustainability starts long before a box is made. It begins in the forest.

Recently, we welcomed customers to Natchitoches, Louisiana, for a unique "Walk in the Woods" experience designed to bring the story of sustainable packaging to life. The event offered an inside look at how responsible forestry, strategic sourcing and operational expertise come together to create fiber-based packaging solutions our customers can trust.

The experience began in a privately owned working forest, where attendees heard directly from a landowner about the long-term commitment required to manage forests sustainably. Customers gained firsthand insight into how responsible forestry practices support biodiversity, wildlife habitats, carbon capture and the long-term health of forest ecosystems, while also ensuring a reliable and renewable fiber supply.

For many attendees, seeing the origin of the fiber that eventually becomes corrugated packaging created a stronger connection to the sustainability commitments within their own supply chains.

The day continued with a tour of International Paper’s Mansfield, Louisiana mill, where customers saw how sustainably sourced fiber is transformed into high-quality packaging products through advanced manufacturing processes and rigorous sourcing standards.

Throughout the tour, our team shared insights into the certifications, chain of custody processes and responsible sourcing practices that help ensure transparency and accountability across the supply chain. Customers also had the opportunity to engage directly with our experts and learn how International Paper helps companies meet evolving sustainability goals without compromising performance or reliability.

Experiences like this reflect our commitment to collaboration, transparency and innovation. By giving customers a closer look at every step of the journey, from forest to finished packaging, we help them better understand the value of sustainable fiber and the expertise behind the products they depend on every day.
