Volunteering at Krakow

Some of our Krakow team members recently volunteered their time to help improve the surroundings of Babinski Psychiatric Hospital. IP also supported the hospital with a financial donation as well as with an in-kind donation of several used laptops and supporting equipment, all benefiting the children’s ward and their newly opened school.

The 24 IP volunteers dedicated a total of 120 hours raking leaves, cleaning fences, digging flower beds and painting walls inside the hospital. All contributing to creating a positive space that fosters patients’ recovery.

According to the Polish National Health Fund, over the last five years, the number of children and adolescents in the country who are treated for depressive disorders and mood disorders has increased by over 100%. As a result, Babinski Hospital, located in the suburbs of Krakow, opened a new Center of Psychiatry for Children in 2019, and since September 2022 also offers schooling for their patients.
