Richard BargeRichard Barge
Landowner

More than 90 percent of International Paper’s fiber supply in the United States comes from privately owned forests, most of which are small and family-owned. We work with landowners like Richard to ensure the responsible management of the working forests from which we source. Richard’s father purchased his land in Macon, Miss., in 1942, and by 1959 Richard and his two sisters continued the hard work required to transform depleted timberlands into the healthy, sustainably managed working forest that their children nurture today. With support from International Paper, the Barge property holds both Forest Stewardship Council® and America Tree Farm System® certifications.
