Truck Weight Reform
Often times, International Paper cannot completely fill up the trucks leaving our paper and packaging mills because they reach the state or federal truck weight limit before they are full. This leads to less efficient shipping of our products and requires the use of additional trucks to carry the remaining freight. Allowing states to make the choice whether to increase their interstate weight limits for trucks with 4 additional wheels and brakes would allow us to safety and efficiently move the same amount of product on fewer trucks.
