Senior Manager, Government Relations
Business Issues: Human Capital, Recycling and Transportation
Julie joined International Paper’s Global Government Relations team in 2004, taking the chance to assume ever increasing responsibilities during her tenure at the company. She advocates for the company’s legislative priorities specific to IP’s business units, including recycling and circular economy matters, supply chain efficiency, workforce development and human capital policies.
Based in Washington, DC, Julie serves on the National Industrial Transportation League’s Board of Directors and is deeply engaged in supply chain policy and regulatory matters impacting truck and rail efficiency and port operations. Julie is also focused on guiding circular economy principles with leading recycling national organizations as Congress and state governments look to develop programs that would impact recycling markets. She has also proudly worked closely with The Fund for American Studies’ Institute on Business and Government Affairs summer internship program for more than a decade.
Before joining IP, Julie worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Congressman John Carter from Texas. Julie graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, specializing in public relations. Although she remains a proud native Texan at heart, Julie lives in Virginia with her husband Chris and two daughters.
