Business Issues: Postal, Paper, Recycling, Transportation and Workforce Development
Julie joined International Paper’s Global Government Relations team in 2004. She advocates for the company’s legislative priorities specific to IP’s business units, including supply chain efficiency, workforce development, recycling policy, employment and labor policy, and paper content and use regulations.
Based in Washington, DC, Julie serves as the Chairman of the National Industrial Transportation League’s (NITL) Ocean Committee and the NITL Board of Directors. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Safer Hauling and Infrastructure Protection Coalition. Julie is engaged on Surface Transportation Board matters and has drafted testimony for executives on the company’s railroad priorities.
Before joining IP, Julie worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Congressman John Carter from Texas. Julie graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, specializing in public relations. Although she remains a proud native Texan at heart, Julie lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband Chris and two daughters.
