Vice President, Global Government Relations
Chris Keuleman is vice president of global government relations. He joined International Paper in 2008 and is responsible for the company's public policy strategy in Washington, D.C. and in state capitals throughout the United States. Prior to becoming vice president, he served as director, government relations and focused on energy, environmental and regulatory issues while also working on the full range of advocacy priorities for the company, including transportation, tax, trade and general business issues.
Before joining International Paper, Keuleman was the executive director of the National Association of Home Builder’s (NAHB) High Production Home Builders Council (HPHBC). In this role, Keuleman led a group of CEOs and top executives of the nation’s largest home building companies by guiding the group’s legislative and political strategies as well as advocating on their behalf. Before that, Keuleman served as political director for the NAHB, acting as a principal liaison between the NAHB and Administration officials, Congress and party campaign committees. Keuleman previously served as a press secretary for a member of Congress, managed two political campaigns and worked for a media consulting firm.
Keuleman has a bachelor of arts from St. Lawrence University and a master of arts from George Washington University.
