Kwidzyn Papermaker’s Run
In the spirit of promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging people to practice regular sports, every spring the International Paper mill in Kwidzyn, Poland hosts a unique sporting event together with the International Paper Kwidzyn Charity Foundation.
The ten-kilometre Papermaker’s Run winds not only along the streets of the town of Kwidzyn, but also through the grounds of one of the largest paper mills in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its first edition in 2010 the event has developed into one of the most prestigious runs in Poland and continues to attract growing numbers of runners and spectators. Numerous International Paper volunteers help stage the event, showing outstanding employee engagement.
The Papermaker’s Run is usually followed by the “International Paper Day”, bringing together mill employees, families and the local community. Both days include fund-raising and volunteering activities for the foundation. Its mission is to assist sick and disadvantaged individuals and their families, and to support local charities and health facilities.
