End of Life Solutions
We are a founding member of the Foodservice Packaging Institute’s Paper Recovery Alliance. This group is working to create solutions for the recovery and processing of used Foodservice Packaging.
Improving our Footprint
Our facilities are continually looking for ways to decrease energy and water usage and increase the amount of waste being diverted from the landfill. In 2013, our Visalia facility reached a landfill diversion rate of over 90%.
The vertical integration of International Paper allows us to deliver creative products and supply chain solutions that increase efficiency, enhance new menu items and improve consumer experience.
International Paper was the first packaging manufacturer in the US to bring a fully compostable hot cup to market. The ecotainer® product line offers an environmentally responsible option for all your foodservice packaging needs. All materials used to produce our ecotainer® cups, lids and containers are sourced from fully renewable resources. The trees used to make the paper come from forests that are certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®). The lids and coating on the paper are made from the same plant-based biopolymer, making this a fully compostable product line in most composting facilities where they exist. By composting ecotainer® packaging, you and your customers can get involved in helping to reduce the amount of waste going into landfills.
