
International Paper Kwidzyn Charity Foundation, set up in 1994, runs numerous charitable initiatives throughout the year. The Foundation’s members work on honorary basis while administrative support is provided by the founder, International Paper; 100% of the Foundation’s proceeds are therefore directed towards statutory aims. Half of its income is derived from contributions by natural persons, and half from donations by juridical persons. The Foundation does not draw on any money originating from public sources or from the state.
Over the years, International Paper and its Kwidzyn Charity Foundation, have implemented a range of social and educational initiatives benefiting the local community, totaling an investment of over PLN 30 million, including:
- the construction of a computer and languages learning centre
- the construction of a water treatment unit for the municipality
- repairs to the municipal hospital
- the construction of a sports hall for the local primary school
- repairs to a rehabilitation centre for the disabled
- repairs to the boarding house at the music school
- the construction of walking and cycling paths
- repairs to and upgrading of the municipal theater
- fitting out a centre for practical occupational sciences
