Carol L. Roberts

Carol Roberts graduated from Yale University in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. She began her career with International Paper the same year, as associate engineer at the Mobile, Ala., mill. In 1991, Carol became mill manager at the Oswego, N.Y., facility. In 1993, she was promoted to general manager of Kraft Packaging, followed by a move to general manager for Kraft Paper and Packaging in 1996. A year later, Carol was appointed an officer of International Paper and promoted to vice president of People Development in the Human Resources organization. She was named vice president of Industrial Packaging in October 2000. Carol was named senior vice president, Industrial Packaging, in November 2005, with responsibility for the Containerboard & Recycling and Container the Americas businesses. She served as Chief Financial Officer of International Paper from November 2011 to February 2017. Carol has led a world-class finance organization with a relentless focus on ensuring the financial strength of the company. She earned the respect of her industry peers and the investment community throughout her 35-year career.
She serves on the Board of Directors of Alcoa and serves on the Yale University Presidents Advisory Council.
