Safety First – UK sales team learn safety at work

10th November 2017

At International Paper, our most important responsibility is to ensure everyone arrives home safely every day. To ensure that our team members have the skills and confidence needed to be safety leaders, members of IP’s UK sales team, along with guests from Krakow, supplier Riasca and customer Antalis, recently participated in a First Aid at Work training, taught by the British Red Cross.

The day-long course included a mix of theoretical and practical learning, covering such topics as: dealing with an emergency, treating burn wounds, using automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and properly reporting a work incident.
Participants also received practical training on how to provide emergency response to an individual who is chocking, bleeding or having a seizure, to name only a few of the scenarios covered.

Having passed the course, all participants are now first aid certified, valid for three years. It’s just one of the important things we’re doing here at International Paper UK & Ireland, to make sure our workforce is safe every day.
