SpaceKraft® Bulk Packaging Facility Certified by American Institute of Baking
SpaceKraft®, an International Paper business, is pleased to announce that its liquid bulk packaging manufacturing plant in Indianapolis, Ind., has received a Certificate of Achievement from the American Institute of Baking (AIB).
Since its founding by the baking industry in 1919, AIB has grown to include certification programs for protecting the safety of the food supply chain in a variety of food processing, distribution, foodservice, and retail industries worldwide.
Receiving AIB Certification means the Indianapolis SpaceKraft facility meets food quality and safety standards through the AIB Gold Standard. The AIB Gold Standard Program monitors a facility’s GMP audit qualification, HACCP validation and verification, and quality systems evaluation.
This achievement further expands SpaceKraft’s ability to meet customers’ bulk packaging product needs through AIB's comprehensive quality protocol. “SpaceKraft has always had a focus on meeting or exceeding our customers’ packaging needs for bulk liquid commodities and specialty items,” said Mark Jones, general manager of SpaceKraft. “Certification is significant for both employees and customers. Successfully completing this rigorous independent inspection of our facilities is a validation of all the work we have done internally over the years to maintain the highest possible food production standards," he says. "It also gives our customers added assurance that they can have total confidence in the quality and safety of our products."
To help the food industry continue to meet food service and consumer quality expectations, American Institute of Baking International offers a fully integrated program designed to enhance product quality and reduce food safety risks. Through the Gold Standard Certification Program, manufacturers strive for continuous improvement in providing the values of confidence, security and prosperity through full integration of sanitation, safety and the quality of their processes.
