Meet a Tree Farmer

In the United States, more than 60 percent of privately owned forestlands are managed by family foresters. These "tree farmers" are managing and protecting the natural resources we use to make paper and packaging products. More than half of the wood fiber International Paper purchases comes from family forest owners, so it is vital for our wood fiber supply professionals to be closely involved with these families and their communities. Meet three forest owners that manage their forestlands to provide for their families, protect the community and promote biodiversity. Each family has been managing their forestlands responsibly for at least three generations.

At International Paper we constantly educate ourselves, our shareholders, our community and our customers.  We believe it’s extremely important to start planning for the future now by teaching the next generation about the importance of using renewable resources and sustaining the forests and ecosystems.

Through a variety of projects we continually share our knowledge about the importance of making products from renewable resources and sustaining the forests and ecosystems upon which we all depend.
