RPC - Printing Tips

Postcard Regulations
It's all about being responsive. You're looking for more out of your RPC, so naturally you have increased expectations concerning the postcard stock itself. With so much to consider in terms for postal regulations, design specifications and the need for bigger, information-packed RPC's, it's important to know how Williamsburg Return Postcard responds to these considerations.

Size
Consideration - There's often a desire to increase the size of an RPC to offer more info or to get noticed. At the same time It's important to know that regulations require a 9 pt. Caliper for all cards over 4.25"x6". The stock has to be right for oversized postcard.
Response - Williamsburg Return Postcard now offers a 9 pt. Sheet in addition to our popular 7 pt. Offering. Now, no matter what size you decide to make your RPC you can expect the same assurance of quality and compliance.

Printing
Consideration - Williamsburg competition becoming so fierce, you need the flexibility to design RPC's that step outside the one-color world we've all grown accustomed to. That means the card stock has to deliver the required print quality.
Response - Both Williamsburg 7 pt. And 9 pt. Return Postcard allow you to create cards that fit your individual needs. From a simple one-color expectation to a card with multiple colors, you can be confident that your message will hold up and reproduce cleanly when you're on press.

Options
Consideration - Sometimes the end use of a postcard requires the sheet to have a low porosity (a tighter sheet that minimizes air flow through it). This is important when a postcard is inserted or "blown" into a magazine utilizing suction in the insertion process. Porosity is determined by measuring the gurley of a sheet, which is reported by the number of seconds required to pass 100 cc of air through it. A postcard that is blown into a magazine would need to be on a hi-gurley sheet.
Response - Williamsburg Return Postcard offers both a hi- and low- gurley sheet, so you can get the exact card stock you need to ensure it fits each project's specifications. Both quality offerings are designed to meet your needs.

Runnability
Consideration - Turnaround time is shorter than ever and nobody can afford a postcard stock that presents production problems. You need something that runs smoothly through the press… a paper that can stand up to the test.
Response - Williamsburg has a long-standing reputation with printers for excellent runnability and smooth, worry-free performance. You have the peace of mind that comes from knowing Williamsburg Return Postcard delivers the reliability you need and is readily available when you need it.

Color
Consideration - It's not just beating out other RPC's, with all the online shopping nowadays, return postcards have to work even harder… and pull stronger than ever. Using color is one strategy. With both one and multi-color printing the stock has to hold up on press and comply with postal regulations.
Response - Williamsburg Return Postcard is committed to offering you the flexibility to print both single and multi-color work. Both our 7 pt. And 9 pt. Offerings have a surface that can meet the challenge. Mindful of the USPS regulations, we will continue to develop our products with a focus on quality and an up-to-date understanding of how the current postal regulations affect your needs.
