Shorewood Packaging Honored with Two POPAI OMA Awards for Unilever

New York, NY - June 11 2008 - Shorewood Display - the retail merchandising arm of Shorewood Packaging, a business of International Paper - was proud to take home two Outstanding Merchandising Achievement (OMA) trophies for the design and production of P.O.P. displays for two Unilever AXE product lines.

Shorewood Display received both Gold and Bronze recognition in the 2008 Outstanding Merchandising Achievement (OMA) Awards, sponsored by Point-of-Purchase Advertising International (POPAI).  POPAI is the international trade association for the P.O.P. display industry.  The award was one of three that Shorewood received in this annual competition, which honors the best in Marketing-at-Retail.  The third one, a Silver Award, was given for the permanent, interactive display for ActiVision's Guitar Hero III video game.

"We are excited to see our displays for Unilever receive two awards at POPAI this year," said Michael Williams, vice president, Shorewood Display.  "Our Unilever sales, design and production team is dedicated to creating consistently innovative designs for this customer, and they certainly deserve these awards."

Shorewood Display won a Gold Award for the AXE Neutron floor stand and PDQ* displays.  For these projects, Shorewood set out to create displays for AXE body spray product that would convey the product's masculine appeal, signal innovation, and communicate something new and different.

The finished product was a unique display on which eye-catching red graphics popped on a deep black background.  An added feature was an interactive push button activated voice box that said "Bom Chica Wah Wah" to signify the female attraction.  The display engaged consumers through visual and interactive appeal.

The AXE Boost shower gel display, which received Bronze recognition, masterfully combined highly-decorated corrugated board with neon red-colored injection molded plastic to simulate a bold of lightning.  Consumers noted the display's excitement, which is the essence of the invigorating new AXE shower gel product.

This year market the 50th anniversary of the POPAI Outstanding Merchandising Achievement Awards - the display industry's largest and longest running awards contest.  It recognizes the most innovative and effective marketing at-retail displays and programs which lift sales and make products memorable and enticing to consumers.  For more information, visit http://popai.com.
