International Paper Sustainability

As the world’s largest packaging and paper company, International Paper’s wise use of natural resources – renewable wood fibre from sustainable and responsibly managed working forests, as well as water and energy – is critical to the sustainability of our business and our environment.

And while working forests have been the lifeblood of our business for more than a century, our sustainability commitment doesn’t end there at the forest’s edge. It touches the entire life cycle of our products, from manufacturing operations through end-use and recycling because our products are made from renewable resources.

Our sustainability commitment also goes beyond the local communities where we operate providing valuable employment and in 2014 International Paper contributed over $10 million to charitable causes, disaster relief and social development programs. That is the IP Way.
